Strašek workshop was founded in 1949 and has been offering services from the same address, Ilica 53 in Zagreb, ever since. The workshop was started by my grandfather, while my father, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather practiced the same trade.
Written proof exists that Strašek family practiced the trade since 1836 and paid taxes to the town of Zagreb from its address in Nova Ves.
I have been working in the workshop since 2007, and have become the owner in 2013.
I perform all the work in the traditional way, just like it was done at the beginning of the last century. All the pastes and coatings, as well as the preparation of sharpening plates, are done by the old family recipe, with all-natural components. All the phases of the work are done by hand, with no use of machinery.
